Volkswagen has revealed the first sketches of its new large Crafter van, which will go on sale in the Autumn after making its debut at the Hanover commercial vehicle show in September.
The latest Crafter is a VW-developed product, built at its new plant in Wrzesnia, Poland, and succeeds the previous generation model that was based on the Mercedes Sprinter.
VW claimed it had consulted its current LCV customers to gauge their requirements in working out the design of the new van.
The manufacturer said that at 0.33, the new Crafter would have best-in-class drag coefficient and combine practicality with optimum load space.
“The new design language shown on the Crafter will continue across all new commercial vehicle derivatives and models,” said VW.
