The Awards, which are hosted by Thatcham, the motor insurance repair research centre, recognised Vauxhall as the best overall van manufacturer for its five-strong line-up consisting of Corsavan, Combo, Astravan, Vivaro and Movano.
Security features on the range include engine immobilisers, remote control selective locking and deadlocks, alarm systems and full steel bulkheads.
Security accessories available include rear window protection grilles, steering wheel security bars and one-way visible security film.
The vehicles selected for the awards, which were established in 2004, are those submitted for insurance group rating and subjected to the New Vehicle Security Ratings (NVSR) scheme.
Volkswagen took the gongs in the pick-up category, for its Amarok, and the light van category, for its Caddy.
Simon Elliott, VW’s outgoing commercial vehicle boss in the UK, said: “Security is particularly important for our customers as they depend on their vehicles for their business.”
