Renault has announced UK specs and prices for its new electric medium van, the Trafic E-Tech.
The model will be available with a choice of two vehicle lengths (5.08m and 5.48m) and two heights (1.967m and 2.498m), with load spaces ranging from 5.8m3 to 8.9m3 – the long version can accommodate loads up to 4.15m in length thanks to a load-through facility.
Towing capacity is up to 920kg, and maximum payload is up to 1,222kg.
Power comes from a 120hp electric motor, while a 52kWh battery allows a range of up to 186 miles on the WLTP combined cycle. The battery can be recharged in one hour with a 50kW rapid charger.
The maximum speed of the van is 68mph.
The Trafic E-Tech is coming to the UK with a single Advance trim level option. This features standard equipment such as an 8in infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, a 7in driver display, air conditioning, a ‘mobile office’ with folding middle passenger seat, full LED headlights, heated electrically-adjustable door mirrors, rear parking sensors, cruise control with speed limiter, intelligent speed assist, active emergency braking, tyre pressure warning, lane departure warning, driver attention alert, and drowsiness warning.
The Trafic E-Tech is available to pre-order now, with official orders due to open in June, and the first deliveries expected in September. Prices start at £34,500, excluding VAT and including the UK Government’s plug-in van grant, for a short body, low roof model, and rise to £35,250 for a long body, low roof, and £36,250 for a long body, high roof.
