Renault has introduced its double-clutch automatic gearbox to its Kangoo range for the first time.
The new gearbox, which is already offered across the firm’s range of cars, will be mated to the company’s 90hp and 110hp diesel vans.
Renault claimed the new transmission “offers Kangoo drivers an ever more car-like experience behind the wheel”, with the French brand adding that smooth journeys are made possible thanks a shift time of 290 milliseconds.
The transmission also has a ‘creep’ function, which is claimed to make life easier for crawling in traffic and pulling away once the brake pedal is released, while hill-start assist is also offered as standard, which is designed to help the driver move away safely on an incline.
Prices start from £17,395 excluding VAT for the 90hp version when finished in the Business trim level, with emissions rated at 132g/km of CO2. The official fuel consumption figure is 55.4mpg.
