Glass company Pilkington Automotive has adopted fleet and video telematics from Ctrack.

The technology is being rolled out on all new vans within the company’s 35-strong delivery fleet.

The system is being used by two operations managers, with restricted access for regional managers and supervisors, allowing the company to optimise fleet productivity and efficiency through route analysis and driver behaviour monitoring, while protecting drivers and other road users.

Pilkington Automotive operations manager Calum Young said: “Meeting our customer needs in a safe, efficient and sustainable way is a priority for the business, so it is crucial that our drivers are operating responsibly and abiding by all health and safety requirements.

“We needed a highly effective and simple-to-use telematics solution, backed by dashcams, to gain peace of mind around employee welfare and fleet performance.

“We are already seeing some early benefits in terms of driver protection, claims management and cost reduction, while drivers are acting more vigilantly because of the increased engagement, leading to less high-risk driving incidents. As a result, we believe the Ctrack solution will become an essential part of our fleet performance strategy moving forward.”

Ctrack UK managing director Steve Thomas said: “Our comprehensive fleet and video telematics offering means we can work closely with our customers to develop solutions that meet their precise operational requirements.

“With continued advances in the technology, particularly around connectivity and data analysis, we can deliver flexible and use-friendly telematics systems that offer proven safety, efficiency and sustainability improvements.”
