Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has opened the order books for its facelifted Amarok pick-up ahead of it going on sale in January.
The German manufacturer also confirmed the revised model is priced from £26,255 for the entry-level Trendline model, rising to £29,995 for the Highline version and £31,995 for the top-of-the-range limited-edition Aventura variant. All prices exclude VAT.
Replacing the outgoing pick-up’s 2.0-litre diesel unit, the Amarok is powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine, with a choice of two power options – 204hp and 224hp, with a 163hp version to follow later in 2017. All engines are equipped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox with manual versions to join the range later in the year.
The lower power option emits 203g/km of CO2, while the more powerful model emits 204g/km of CO2. Both return 36.2mpg.
UK specifications follow on from the previous model, and range from Startline (due to join the range later in 2017), Trendline and Highline, while the range-topping Aventura model is limited to 240 units.
From the exterior, the 2017 Amarok differs from the previous model through a new front bumper, new alloy wheels and a third brake light. Inside, the pick-up features a new dashboard design which houses the company’s touchscreen media system.
