The majority are equipped with tipper bodies made by Abba Commercials of Dover but the line-up also includes ten beavertail plant transporters, a handful of which are being used by SHB itself to handle vehicle deliveries and collections. Coupled to trailers, each Canter can transport two large 4×4 SUVs.

The last two Canters to arrived are the first SHB has acquired that comply with the Euro 5 exhaust emission regulations. At the time of writing they were being fitted with the operator’s own dropside bodies plus DEL tail-lifts.

With its headquarters in Romsey, Hampshire, SHB runs a fleet of 5,000 vehicles.

Dropping down the Canter weight range and moving across to South Wales, Newport-based baker D Gibbon & Sons has acquired its second 3.5-tonner. Sourced through Cardiff dealer Euro Commercials, the 3C15 has been fitted with a 4.6m (15ft) grp box body by Cardiff Truck & Bus.
