The What Van? Innovation sponsors for 2017, 2018 and 2019 are back again in 2020.
Trucksmith has been the leading low-floored Luton van converter and for over 30 years has sought out creative solutions to make hard-working vehicles better.
“Innovation is at the core of what we do, so we are always delighted to support this all important What Van? Award,” says marketing director Lady Emma Trebble.
“Very early on we identified the limitations of conventional Luton vans, such as floor height, payload and the associated fuel consumption, which affected certain sectors, such as removals and multi-drop deliveries.
“Our approach to overcome such problems was to think differently; to invest in research and development and ensure we had the right technology, tooling and skilled people to make our innovations a reality.
“Trucksmith’s dedicated and well-resourced Design and Development department, based at our three-acre purpose-built site in Devon, enables us to continually improve our existing products and it also means we can create new ones. For example, in 2017 we launched the Target dropside at the Commercial Vehicle Show, an innovative dual-floored vehicle designed with the building trades in mind.
“Our class-leading LoLoader vans are all manufactured to the highest quality and are designed to meet the demands of individuals and commercial fleet buyers alike. They all achieve the best of payloads for their class of low-loading vehicles, enhanced by a true low loading height of just 550mm (and only 450mm with air suspension).
“Here at Trucksmith we are proud to say that our vehicle bodies are officially endorsed and partnered by Renault UK, Renault Trucks, Groupe Renault, Opel, Vauxhall, Nissan, Peugeot, Citroen and Fiat, which has only been possible through continuous, high levels of research, development and innovation.”
Lady Emma adds: “The key to winning the Innovation Award category will not only be how the nominee is affecting business efficiency but also how it could enhance the rest of the commercial vehicle industry for the better.”
