Nissan has brought a state-of-the-art twist to a British summer stalwart with a zero-emission ice cream van.
The concept vehicle is based on the e-NV200 van, and along with the regular electric drivetrain features a portable power pack made from recycled EV batteries, used to power kit such as a soft-serve machine, freezer drawer and drinks fridge.
This power pack can be recharged via the mains, or using a solar panel array on the van’s roof. The van also comes with a new way to attract customers, with the traditional jingle replaced by a feature that tweets its location.
