The flagship Sport Van will be powered by a 155hp 2.2-litre Duratorq diesel engine built at Ford’s Dagenham plant. It features the manufacturer’s voice-activated SYNC communication package and a DAB audio system as well as a part-leather interior.
All Sport Vans are short-wheelbase with a 2.9-tonne gross vehicle weight.
A fully colour-coded exterior includes body-colour bumpers, side mirrors, door handles and body-side mouldings. The van also gets 18-inch alloy wheels on low profile 235/50 tyres, and the signature twin bonnet stripes in a contrasting colour.
David Petts, Ford Britain CV marketing manager, said: “The new Ford Transit Custom Sport Van offers customers a stylish vehicle that makes a bold statement and delivers the full Transit functionality and capability that our customers have come to expect.”
The range-topping new Custom, which will be available to order from early next year, follows in the line of Transit Sport Vans that Ford introduced in 2007.
