Ford is now shipping the first of its new electric E-Transit vans to customers.
Production versions of the van have begun rolling out of Ford’s Otosan factory in Turkey, with more than 5,000 customer orders already received.
The E-Transit, which arrives following a wide programme of customer pilots with 60 pre-production vehicles, is spearheading the European launch of the Ford Pro service, which offers customers a suite of software, charging, servicing and financing solutions on a single platform.
Ford is also investing two billion euros in the Otosan plant to increase production capacity, including for the next-generation Transit Custom, and is planning a new joint venture in Turkey for a large EV battery facility.
The E-Transit will be joined for four additional new fully electric models in the Transit family by 2024.
