Bathroom design company Crosswater has added three new Mercedes Sprinter 313 CDI BlueEffiency vans to its fleet.
The firm, which is based in Dartford, Kent with a second facility in Manchester, runs 30 vans, most of which are previous generation Sprinters.
Mercedes dealer Sparshatts of Kent supplied the latest vehicles, which are the subject of a CharterWay contract hire agreement from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.
Crosswater uses its fleet of long-wheelbase Sprinters to make next-day deliveries to customers placing orders before 5.30pm. It claimed its computerised routing system processes up to 1000 delivery drops every night.
Crosswater Logistics Director Wayne Lobley said: “As well as raising the bar in terms of safety, our latest Sprinters will also help us to achieve our fuel saving targets. All our vehicles are fitted with speed limiters set at 70 mph, while we also equip them with tracking systems which highlight incidents of erratic driving and harsh braking, and operate a bonus scheme that rewards the best drivers.”
The new Sprinter BlueEfficiency has official fuel consumption of 44.4mpg – a 6% increase compared to the rest of the line-up.
