While Fiorino uses Fiat's 70hp 1.3-litre Multijet diesel, Nemo and Bipper are both powered by a 70hp PSA 1.4-litre HDi diesel. The alternative is a 75hp 1.4i petrol engine.
For your money you get a 2.5m3 cargo area and a 610kg payload capacity in a van that slots in just below Citroën's Berlingo and Peugeot's Partner. A five-speed automated manual transmission can be specified with the HDi lump.
Asymmetric twin rear doors come as standard and the newcomer is available with a sliding door on each side of the cargo area.
A multifunction passenger seat is available too that turns into a handy desk if you fold the back flat and allows you to lengthen the load floor by around a metre if you fold the seat all the way forwards. It can be used in conjunction with a hinged bulkhead that protects the driver from any cargo that extends into the passenger area and might fall on him, increasing usable load space to almost 2.8m3.
With the seat upright the cargo bed is 1,520mm long. Interior height is 1,180mm and there is 1,050mm of clearance between the wheel boxes. Rear loading height is 527mm.
Nemo and Bipper will go on sale during the second quarter of 2008.
