Off-road vehicle specialist Ineos Automotive has said it will bring to market hybrid range extender and battery electric four-wheel drive models before the end of 2026.
The manufacturer currently produces the five-seat Grenadier Station Wagon, of which a two-seat Commercial variant is available and has recently introduced the Grenadier Quartermaster pick-up truck.
Tom Johnson, Ineos’ head of UK, Ireland and MENA (Middle East and North Africa), said:
“We are not just a two-vehicle brand, we are in it for the long haul.”
Ineos also claims it is looking at developing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the future. The company currently deploys BMW 3.0-litre turbo-charged inline six-cylinder petrol or diesel engines in its Grenadier vehicles, which it brings to market in the UK through a network of 26 delivery and service agents.
Ineos builds its Grenadier models at a facility in Hambach, France, which it acquired from Mercedes-Benz in January 2021. It originally said it would assemble the vehicles at a new factory in Bridgend, Wales.
