A new combined mobile app for fleet drivers and managers has been launched through a partnership between telematics company Webfleet Solutions and sat-nav maker TomTom.
The new Webfleet Work App is designed to allow drivers and managers to do their jobs with nothing more than an Android device, and features the integrated TomTom Go Fleet App.
The Webfleet app allows the completion of tasks such as locating vehicles, logging working times, registering drivers, setting trip modes, managing orders and schedules, and staying in touch with the back office via two-way communication.
As for the TomTom app, it provides up-to-date navigation and mapping, and its integration allows drivers to automatically start the route to their work destination from the Webfleet app, while managers get real-time visibility of the current ETA and destination.
Professional navigation is provided for all types of vehicles, including advanced routing for larger CVs.
The app is now available to all Webfleet customers who have a LINK 740/710/530/510/410 tracking device installed, and the option for mobile tracking – with no hardware installation necessary – will be introduced in the coming months.
Paul Verheijen, vice president of product management at Webfleet’s parent company Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, said: “The Webfleet Work App is the perfect solution for businesses and drivers who want to leverage their existing mobile devices to effectively manage day-to-day tasks.
“Setup and onboarding are quick and easy, allowing great flexibility with an intuitive user interface, making it a perfect combination with the TomTom Go Fleet app. Together we can offer even greater value to our customers providing an integrated solution.”
Mike Schoofs, managing director of TomTom Enterprise, said: “Simplifying location technology and helping to solve challenges for drivers has always been at the heart of TomTom.
“It’s exciting to work with partners who have similar goals as us, like Webfleet Solutions. This collaboration has enabled both companies to integrate what they do best into one solution for professional drivers.”
