A new high-spec version of the Mitsubishi L200 pick-up is now available to order.
Called the Challenger, it is based on the Warrior trim version of the current series five model, but Mitsubishi says it will continue to be sold alongside the new facelifted L200, which it is calling the series six, when that vehicle arrives in the autumn.
Exterior styling features of the Challenger include black 17in alloy wheels, and black detailing on the front grille, front bumper accents, front fog lamp surrounds, wheel arch extensions, side steps, door mirrors, door handles and rear bumper.
The interior is trimmed in black leather, while equipment includes heated front seats, an electric driver’s seat, a 7in multimedia screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility, DAB radio and a reversing camera.
Other standard kit includes dual-zone climate control, automatic windscreen wipers, keyless operation, bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights.
Driver assistance systems include lane departure warning, hill start assist and trailer stability assistance.
Power comes from a 2.4-litre, 180hp diesel engine, which is paired with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission.
A Super-Select 4WD system allows drivers to switch between two-wheel and four-wheel drive at speeds of up to 62mph.
Prices for the L200 Challenger, excluding VAT, are £27,705 with the manual gearbox, or £29,105 with the automatic.
