Auction firm BCA has sold 148 LCVs at an event specifically for vehicles compliant with the new London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).

A mix of Euro 6 diesel and electric hybrid vehicles were on offer, including short-, medium- and long-wheelbase panel vans, Lutons, tippers, flatbeds and car-derived models.

The ULEZ comes into force on 8 April, and will charge non-Euro 6 diesel vans and non-Euro 4 petrol vans £12.50 per day to enter.

BCA says the average sale value was in excess of 104% of Cap Clean.

It plans a second ULEZ sale – to be held like the first one at its Blackbushe site – on 14 May.

BCA business development director for commercial vehicles Jon Gilbert said: “This unique event offered LCV buyers and operators a wide variety of ULEZ compliant vehicles to meet a diverse range of requirements.

“Buyers could bid with confidence because they knew every vehicle had been fully checked by BCA for Euro 6 compliance pre-sale.

“The demand for Euro 6 is growing and this will increase when the London ULEZ goes live in April.

“Several major buyers attending the sale confirmed that they only retail Euro 6 compliant vehicles and, as a result, found the event exceptionally useful.”
