Majestic Wine has added 51 new Citroen vans to its delivery fleet.
The order, including 35 Berlingos, 11 Dispatchs and five Relays, takes the number of Citroen vans run by the company to 222.
The vans are in Enteprise spec, and are mainly used for home and customer deliveries, with the Relays used to supply commercial clients such as event organisers, restaurants, pubs and bars.
The fleet is supplied through franchised dealer Just Citroen of Preston on a contract with Lex Autolease.
Majestic Wine fleet manager Chris Whitby said: “Our vans are on the go all the time, carrying a variety of loads ranging from a few cases of wine and beer to a whole party order, including glasses and chiller bins.
“The vehicles are working on every sort of road you can think of, from congested urban routes to quiet rural roads. They must be reliable and easy to drive, while helping to keep our fuel bills as low as possible.
“Our Citroen fleet meets all these requirements, while the Enterprise specification helps us to control our fuel bills, keep our drivers comfortable and reduces accidental damage to the minimum, thanks to the standard satellite navigation, air conditioning and parking sensors.”
PSA Group UK fleet director Martin Gurney said: “We know the reliability of the Berlingo has proved to be a strong selling point for Citroën’s versatile van over many years, combined with its flexible load space and low fuel consumption.
“So it’s no surprise to us that it has won over the Majestic Wine fleet team, where it has proved its credentials alongside the Dispatch and Relay.
“Majestic Wine is a highly-valued customer and we look forward to introducing the new Berlingo to them in the very near future.”
