DIY store Homebase has signed up to Project Pictogram, a road safety initiative aimed at raising awareness about the four main causes of road traffic collisions and fatalities.
Homebase’s fleet will now feature the logos which encourage drivers to slow down and wear a seatbelt.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service is also supporting the project with stickers across its fleet, and is hosting the scheme’s webpage, too.
Project Pictogram is endorsed by the UK’s major road safety bodies – Road Safety GB, Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) – and is also a finalist in the Brake Fleet Road Safety Awards 2015 for innovation.
The artwork and guidelines can be downloaded for free here.
“This is a great low cost initiative that provides a simple reminder of road safety rules that help to keep traffic flowing,” said Andy Leigh, Home Retail Group’s health and safety manager.
