The double-cab vehicle is available in two-wheel drive mode or with part-time four-wheel drive and is powered by a 2.0-litre, 155hp e-XDi active diesel engine mated to either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Ssangyong said CO2 emissions range from 196g/km for the two-wheel drive manual to 212g/km for the four-wheel drive automatic. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle goes from a claimed 38mpg down to 35mpg for the same powertrains.

The manufacturer has not yet confirmed UK specifications or launch date for the Korando Sports, which is expected to appeal mainly to customers in the leisure segment of the pick-up market.
