Insurance giant Allianz has launched a roadside assistance service for van owners and drivers in order to minimise the inconvenience of their vehicle breaking down.
Three packages are available – Gold, Silver and Bronze. As standard, 24 hour breakdown cover and local van recovery (as long as the van is more than a mile from home) for the driver and up to seven passengers is offered, with Silver adding home assistance if the vehicle breaks down before a journey begins, while Gold includes national recovery and the provision of alternative transport or overnight accommodation if needed.
Prices start from £46.50 per van per year, though this programme is intended for sole traders or SMEs, as the product is only available for single vehicles rather than fleets.
